Eagles survive against Rams 28-22, will host NFC Championship Game vs. Commanders

Can you breathe yet?

After a drama-filled fourth quarter, the Eagles survived a snowy divisional round game against the Rams 28-22.

The Eagles appeared to have secured a commanding victory when Saquon Barkley broke free for a 78-yard touchdown run, extending their fourth-quarter lead to 13 points with 4:36 remaining in regulation.

But the Rams had other plans. Cutting the lead to six with 2:51 left to play, Los Angeles got the ball back and reached the red zone with a final chance to win.

Ultimately, Vic Fangio’s defense came up big in the clutch. Jalen Carter delivered a crucial sack on third-and-3, and Stafford’s fourth-and-11 pass to Puka Nacua sailed out of bounds, sealing the Eagles’ spot in the NFC Championship Game.

Saquon Barkley was the undisputed star of the game, racking up 205 rushing yards — the fifth-most in a single playoff game — and scoring two touchdowns on 26 carries.

Barkley’s numbers against the Rams this season were nothing short of a cheat code: 52 carries, 534 yards, and 4 touchdowns all over 60 yards.

Jalen Hurts finished the day 15/20 passing for 128 yards and added 70 yards on the ground. His 44-yard score put the Eagles up early. He came out of the game briefly after getting folded up on a sack but stated afterward he expects to play next week.

The Eagles are now slated for an NFC East battle against the Commanders, with a trip to Super Bowl 59 on the line.
