Jalen Hurts’ Postgame: “It Comes Through Philly”
Jalen Hurts didn’t need to say much after the Philadelphia Eagles clinched their spot in the NFC Championship Game. Just four words were enough to capture the moment:
“It comes through Philly.”
That was Jalen Hurts’ response to NBC’s Melissa Stark when asked about the significance of reaching the conference championship after the Eagles outlasted the Rams, 28-22, in a snowy slugfest at Lincoln Financial Field.
Lead From The Front:
“It means everything for this city, this team,” Hurts added. “We got everything we want in front of us, taking it a game and a day at a time. We’ll go enjoy this one and move on to the next.”
Hurts’ performance may not have been flashy as a passer—he went 15-for-20 for 128 yards—but his legs did the talking. With 70 rushing yards and a 44-yard touchdown run that set the tone early, Hurts reminded everyone why he’s the leader of this team.

Quick Note: We can stop with the stupid narrative that “Jalen Hurts and the Eagles passing game is a problem” before it even starts. It’s not. That was a cold, wet, and snow-filled playoff game. Saquon torched the Rams once already this season. It was always going to be a run-first playbook on Sunday.
The Eagles piled up 285 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, embodying their smash-mouth identity. Saquon Barkley (obviously) delivered for the Birds, racking up 205 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground to lead the attack.
Saquon Barkley’s 78-yard dagger with just crowd noise is a signature Eagles playoff moment
Philly’s Road to the NFC Title Game
Hurts’ declaration about the NFC Championship running through Philadelphia wasn’t just lip service. The Eagles’ status as the NFC’s No. 2 seed secured them home-field advantage for this stage, a fact that looms large given how raucous Lincoln Financial Field gets in January.
Their Divisional Round win wasn’t without drama. The Rams, led by Matthew Stafford, were knocking on the door late in the fourth quarter before Jalen Carter’s heroics on third and fourth down sealed the game. Hurts’ calm demeanor and leadership have been instrumental in guiding this team through tense moments like Sunday’s.
A Familiar Foe Awaits
Now, the Eagles will host the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. The divisional rivals split their regular-season meetings.
The Eagles won 26-18 in Week 11, but Washington eked out a 36-33 win in Week 16 after Hurts was forced to leave the game with an injury.
If Jalen Hurts’ postgame message is any indication, Philly is ready for what’s next.
One Step Closer
For Hurts and the Eagles, this season has always been about one thing: the Super Bowl. And with everything now running through Philadelphia, the team has its sights set firmly on hoisting another Lombardi Trophy.
As Jalen Hurts said: “It comes through Philly.” That’s exactly how Eagles fans like it.
