Montoya, Por Favor! – Pour one out for the internet’s newest Reality TV meme king
MONTOYA, POR FAVOR – Everyone relax. We have to take a break from recycling the same old Eagles Super Bowl LIX storylines and address the now mega-viral clip that has taken over social media. If you’ve been anywhere near the internet this week, you’ve probably heard someone yell “Montoya, por favor!”—a phrase that has rapidly ascended to meme superstardom thanks to an absolutely soul-crushing moment on Spanish reality TV.
A contestant on La Isla de las Tentaciones (Temptation Island’s Spanish cousin) is forced to watch his girlfriend cheat on him—violently, enthusiastically, and without a shred of hesitation—while he helplessly looks on in horror. The sheer agony on his face, the way he literally sprints to the beach in desperation like he’s about to wage war, and the dramatic cries of despair?
Montoya, por favor! – This is Shakespearean tragedy disguised as reality TV
What Even Is This Show?
For those unfamiliar, La Isla de las Tentaciones is a relationship-ruining social experiment where couples are separated into separate villas, surrounded by sexy, flirtatious “testers” whose sole job is to lure them into temptation.
The contestants then get to watch their significant others’ worst moments on screen in real-time, which is somehow even more evil than what’s happening in the villas themselves.
And let’s just say Montoya’s girlfriend did not hesitate when it came to embracing temptation.
While Montoya had previously received a lap dance (arguably mild in the grand scheme of reality TV scandals), his girlfriend responded with an all-out nuclear strike—a full-blown cheating session, broadcast straight into Montoya’s already-shattered soul.
Montoya Part 2:
My guy Montoya laying on the beach in complete shambles shook me to the core….

The Internet Reacts…lol
As expected, the internet has turned Montoya’s suffering into premium meme material. Sports teams, brands, and just about every Twitter/X user have latched onto his despair as the new universal symbol for absolute, unfiltered defeat.
The NBA is using him to describe teams getting blown out.
European soccer clubs are using Montoya to react to missed sitters.
Relationship Twitter has made him the poster boy for never trusting anyone.
It’s early, but this is already shaping up to be one of the defining memes of 2025.
The Bigger Lesson Here?
Outside of the obvious, where you should never go on a reality tv show with the soul purpose of ruining your life, reputation, and relationship and the fact that you should never “hop” on another man with a camera rolling like my boy’s former love, there are a few takeaways from the viral clip.
- Reality TV is still undefeated. Just when you think we’ve seen it all, a show comes along and somehow pushes the boundaries of emotional destruction even further.
- If you play, you might get played. Montoya technically cheated first, but he was not ready for the consequences. Some are calling this a masterclass in “f* around and find out”**.
- We are all Montoya at some point in life. Maybe not in this exact way (hopefully), but everyone has had a Montoya moment—where life just blindsides you with some unnecessary brutality.
And with La Isla de las Tentaciones now guaranteed to smash viewership records, Montoya’s suffering has, at the very least, secured the show’s place in reality TV history. Hate to see it.
