WATCH: Philly Mayor Cherelle Parker gets the boo birds, chants to ‘wrap it up’ during speech at Eagles parade

As the Art Museum speeches officially were underway, Mayor Cherelle Parker was clearly a little too comfortable with the mic.

Mayor Cherelle Parker with the longest speech ever:

No disrespect to Mayor Cherelle Parker, but this wasn’t the time for a campaign speech. While the Eagles were all about quick hits—Jeffrey Lurie, Howie Roseman, Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and the rest of the squad kept things short and sweet—Parker went for it with an extended monologue that felt like it lasted longer than the entire third quarter of the Super Bowl.

And in true Philadelphia fashion, the fans let her know exactly how they felt.

The boo birds came out in force as Parker dragged her speech well past the acceptable limit. Philly fans—arguably the most self-aware people on the planet—weren’t about to sit through another round of political grandstanding when they just wanted to celebrate their team. The boos kept rolling until she finally got the hint and stepped away from the mic.

Look, we get it—Mayor Cherelle Parker is probably still attempting to make up for those brutal spelling errors earlier in the playoffs. But today wasn’t the time. The people wanted football speeches, beer showers, and to obviously hear from the players and coaches while praying someone did something ridiculous—not a filibuster from City Hall.

Next time? Read the room but regardless, GO BIRDS.
