Once Kevin Patullo was promoted from QB coach to offensive coordinator, the Eagles had a vacancy to fill. Instead of promoting from within again, they went outside the organization for this hire.

Scott Loeffler brings over three decades of coaching experience to the Eagles as their new quarterbacks coach. After six seasons as the head coach at Bowling Green, where he led the program to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2012-15, Loeffler now joins the defending Super Bowl champions.

His coaching résumé includes offensive coordinator roles at Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech, and Boston College, along with quarterback coaching stints at Michigan, Florida, and Central Michigan.

This marks his second NFL opportunity, having previously served as the Detroit Lions’ quarterbacks coach in 2008. Loeffler steps in to replace Doug Nussmeier, who departed for New Orleans to join Kellen Moore’s staff with the Saints.
