Looks like Josh Sweat wants to stay with Eagles this offseason
The Eagles have a few notable free agents they have to address this offseason, including Josh Sweat.
Sweat has been a steady force along the Birds’ defensive line for a few years now. He’s coming off one of his best seasons to date in 2024, recording 8 sacks, including a 2-sack performance in Super Bowl LIX.
Given the current offseason outlook, most assume Josh Sweat will be gone because the Eagles won’t be able to afford him. However, Sweat himself doesn’t seem to share that belief. Based on his Instagram activity, it certainly looks like he expects to stay in Philly.

Ideally, the Eagles are able to retain Sweat. Based on what we’ve heard from Howie Roseman, it seems like the top priority is re-signing Zach Baun. After that, I would have to assume Josh Sweat is next in the pecking order.
If the Eagles can keep Baun and one of their pending free agents along the defensive line, Sweat or Milton Williams, I’ll be happy.
Free agency is just a few weeks away, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
