Report: Darius Slay does not have a deal in place with Pittsburgh, still under contract with Eagles

On Monday, it was reported that Darius Slay is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It appears those reports were a bit premature.

Via ProFootballTalk, there is no deal in place yet for Slay in Pittsburgh. He is talking with the Steelers, but he’s still technically under contract with the Eagles.

Darius Slay’s future is still uncertain:

“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, there’s ‘no deal yet’ in place for Slay.“

The report also states that the Eagles could still end up keeping Slay, which would be a very weird turn of events. Not only because he was about to go to Pittsburgh, but also because of all the off-field drama surrounding him and teammate CJ Gardner-Johnson over the past week.

Nevertheless, I don’t see Slay returning the Philadelphia. I think the deal with Pittsburgh goes through and he finishes his career out with the Steelers.
