Eagles sign veteran tackle to 1-year deal

The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent offensive tackle Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal, as reported by Peter Schrager of NFL Media.

Lamm, 32, will compete to fill the crucial swing tackle role, previously occupied by Fred Johnson, under the expert guidance of offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.

Eagles Address Depth Concerns with Lamm Addition

Lamm brings a wealth of experience to Philadelphia’s offensive front, having played in 119 career games with 44 starts across multiple teams. His journey in the NFL began with four seasons in Houston, followed by stints in Cleveland and Tennessee before he landed with the Miami Dolphins in 2024. Last season, Lamm appeared in 15 games, starting seven, and contributed on 511 offensive snaps along with 63 special teams snaps.

While Lamm underwent back surgery on January 3, his performance last season demonstrated his ability to be a reliable asset on the line. If he can stay healthy, he provides Philadelphia with a seasoned veteran capable of stepping in when needed.

What Lamm’s Signing Means for the Eagles

With a strong offensive line already in place, the Eagles are adding depth and flexibility with this move. The swing tackle position is a critical role, as injuries can quickly test a team’s depth. Lamm’s experience and versatility will be valuable as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season.

Philadelphia’s offensive line has long been a strength, and maintaining a reliable group to protect the quarterback and establish the run game remains a priority. If Lamm can prove he is fully recovered from his surgery, he could become an important piece of the puzzle for the Eagles in 2025.
