Report: Browns are negotiating major trade for NFC East quarterback

Before I even get into this, take all of what I’m about to write with a grain of salt. Reportedly, the Cleveland Browns are in the middle of negotiating with the Dallas Cowboys on a trade that would send Dak Prescott to Cleveland.

According to Bruce Drennan, who works under the Big Play sports media company in Ohio and apparently has sources within the Browns organization, multiple Browns staffers have told him that the team is working on a trade for Prescott. He claims it’s part of the reason Myles Garrett chose to re-sign instead of force a trade to a contender.

I’ll just be completely honest with you — this could be complete bullshit. I’ve never heard of the guy sharing this, he has about 2,000 followers on Twitter, and he works for a media company I’ve also never heard of. But this clip is flying around social media like a hot potato, so here we are. And let’s be real: the idea of Dallas moving on from Dak and sending him to the hellscape that is the Cleveland Browns? That’s just too good to ignore.

There’s fun to be had here from a few angles. First, the franchise itself. Jerry Jones and his son, Stephen, seem to be burning everything down, and as an Eagles fan, it’s a beautiful sight to witness. Then there’s Dak — he’s been claiming for years that the Cowboys are about to win a Super Bowl. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. But if they do, it sure doesn’t look like he’ll be the one hoisting the Lombardi.

And finally, we have Cowboys fans — those delusional gremlins. I’d absolutely love to see them twist themselves into knots trying to justify trading Dak, the same quarterback they’ve insisted is better than Jalen Hurts in every possible way.

I really, really hope this actually happens. It feels unlikely, but I’m still holding out hope.
