“He was telling me all the things that he learned this year, and I was amazed. Usually you don’t expect that from a 20-year-old,” Brière said. “He’s got an impressive mind, and mindset, and approach. I left the meeting laughing to myself — if he accomplishes half of the things he has on his list to do, we’re in really good shape.”

A detailed plan? At 20? After leading all NHL rookies with 26 goals and dragging this sorry team to relevance for about three weeks? Yeah — the Flyers might finally have something here and honestly, it’s the type of diplomatic relations we should expect from Russia and America across any industry moving forward.

This is exactly what you want to hear in a year where everything else cratered for the Flyers. Matvei Michkov isn’t just talented, he’s locked in, focused, and already dissecting his season like he’s a grizzled veteran.

The Flyers don’t just have a scorer — they might have a culture-changer on their hands.

If he even hits half the goals on that mystery list of his? Philly’s rebuild just got a serious shot of adrenaline.
