Tee Grizzley releases new single “Jalen Hurtski” in honor of Eagles QB

Jalen Hurts has officially been elevated from Super Bowl Champion and MVP to Cultural Icon. Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley released a new single entitled “Jalen Hurtski” as an homage to the Eagles QB.

Tee Grizzley showed Jalen Hurts some love on his new track:

I really, really wanted to like this song. I am one of the biggest homers in existence. I figured we’d get more Hurts love than one memorable line in the hook, so that was disappointing.

In reality, the song’s not great in general. It is, for all intents and purposes, a rap song. Not much groundbreaking stuff is going on. If it had more Jalen-based lyrics, it’d be much better, but I suppose that’s too much to ask.

Even my immense homerism isn’t strong enough to make me like this song. It’s had that power over me in the past, but not this time.

For example, listened to Meek Mill’s Championships album all the time in 2018 after Super Bowl LII, and it wasn’t even that great of an album. It had some solid tracks, but that’s about it.

This song, on the other hand, probably won’t even get saved to my Spotify library.

And who knows? Maybe this song will pop off, and I’ll be the guy acting like an old man shouting about nothing. I’m content to be on the wrong side of history anyway.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
