LeBron James and lying, name a more iconic duo. King James’ love affair with fibbing reignited on Tuesday night during the Lakers’ beatdown of the Timberwolves in Game 2.

LeBron James couldn’t help but check if the refs were buying what he was selling after a flop:

God yes. This is what the NBA Playoffs are all about, folks.

Only in the modern NBA can you see a 40-year-old man writhe around on the ground and peek between his fingers like he’s cheating at hide and seek. People complain about the current state of the league, but I think this blatant nonsense is what makes it so compelling.

It’s also another entry into the annals of LeBron’s Legacy of Lying. In many ways, the flop is the purest form of lying, as no words are necessary, only actions.

Now, there is another angle to this. LeBron could just as easily have been fucking around here. He knows everything he does is under the microscope, and he’s “clip farming” as the kids say.

Either way, I don’t really care. All that matters is that LeBron James is still committed to the bit in Year 22. What that bit is, on the other hand, is for you to decide.
