Ty Robinson is the Eagles’ Secret Weapon if the NFL eventually bans the Tush Push

The NFL might finally get its way and kill the Tush Push, but the Eagles already look like they’ve got a backup plan — and it might just involve Ty Robinson.

2025 NFL Draft Recap: Eagles Walk Out With 10 New Rookies and a Whole Lot of Potential

Philly drafted Robinson to be a force on the defensive line, but don’t sleep on his offensive potential. At Nebraska, Robinson lined up at fullback eight times — and the Cornhuskers scored a touchdown on seven of those plays. That’s not just good, that’s automatic.

The Eagles’ Backfield Is Already a Nightmare

Now, let’s be clear: when you already have a backfield featuring Saquon Barkley, AJ Dillon, and also have Jalen Hurts as your quarterback, you’re not exactly hurting for short-yardage options.

Oh, and in case you forgot, Jordan Mailata is still 6’8″, 380 pounds, and used to play professional rugby. Not bad if you need to move a pile.

Still, having a guy like Robinson — a 6’6″, 300+ pound defensive lineman who’s already proven he can be a bulldozer in goal-line situations — gives the Eagles yet another card to play if the league tries to take away their favorite move.

Whether it’s Robinson at fullback, Mailata as a human battering ram, or simply handing it to Barkley or Dillon, the Eagles are built to survive whatever rule changes come their way.

Philly isn’t losing sleep over the Tush Push drama. They’re just building bigger battering rams.
