2025 NFL Draft Recap: Eagles Walk Out With 10 New Rookies and a Whole Lot of Potential
Another draft in the books — and Howie Roseman did Howie Roseman things. The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2025 NFL Draft with eight picks and walked out with 10 new rookies, plus an extra 2026 fifth-round pick in the back pocket. Business as usual.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES FULL DRAFT CLASS:
- 1 (31): LB Jihaad Campbell
- 2 (64): S Andrew Mukuba
- 4 (111): DT Ty Robinson
- 5 (145): CB Mac McWilliams
- 5 (161): LB Smael Mondon Jr.
- 5 (168): C/G Drew Kendall
- 6 (181): QB Kyle McCord
- 6 (191): OT Myles Hinton
- 6 (207): OT Cameron Williams
- 6 (209): EDGE Antwaun Powell-Ryland
THE HEADLINERS:
Jihaad Campbell (LB, Alabama)
Top 10 player on the Eagles’ board. Top 10 name in the draft too. Campbell has freakish athleticism, pass rush juice, and Vic Fangio’s fingerprints are already all over his development plan. Sure, there’s some medical risk — shoulder surgery isn’t nothing — but Howie called it an “easy pick.” This dude fits the modern hybrid linebacker/edge mold perfectly.
Andrew Mukuba (S, Clemson)
CJ Gardner-Johnson out, Mukuba in. Mukuba’s a playmaker with legit coverage skills, which the Eagles desperately needed after trading CJGJ. Look for him to battle Sydney Brown for starting snaps next to Reed Blankenship right away.
Ty Robinson (DT, Nebraska)
With Milton Williams gone and Jordan Davis entering a contract year, Philly had to reload inside. Robinson brings size, athleticism, and that freak strength we all know Jeff Stoutland drools over. He’ll be a rotational piece right away.
THE VALUE PLAYS:
Mac McWilliams (CB, Penn State)
Nickel corner depth who might also moonlight as a special teams demon. Versatile, tough, smaller body type — classic Day 3 flier.
Smael Mondon Jr. (LB, Georgia)
Another Georgia Dawg! Big upside but still raw. Will start off playing special teams and could work his way into the linebacker rotation behind Campbell and Zack Baun.
Drew Kendall (C/G, Boston College)
Depth behind Cam Jurgens. Might even slide into guard if needed. Eagles love versatile interior linemen and Kendall fits the mold.
THE QB FACTORY NEVER SLEEPS:
Kyle McCord (QB, Ohio State)
Because it wouldn’t be an Eagles draft without a quarterback.
McCord gets tossed into the developmental pile behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee. The Eagles could flip McKee next year and groom McCord to be the new QB2.
THE PROJECTS WITH BIG UPSIDE:
Myles Hinton (OT, Michigan)
Swing tackle material. Versatile enough to back up both spots.
Cameron Williams (OT, Washington)
Big project but a BIG ceiling.
If Jeff Stoutland can fix the technique issues, Philly could have another long-term starter in the pipeline.
Antwaun Powell-Ryland (EDGE, Virginia Tech)
Undersized but insanely productive pass rusher. Pure chaos creator off the edge — the exact type of late-round dart throw that can end up mattering in December.
WHAT HOWIE REALLY DID:
The Eagles didn’t just add bodies — they added:
- Speed
- Position versatility
- Athletic upside
- Roster flexibility for 2026
And by trading down twice, Howie scooped up an extra 2026 fifth-rounder. They’re now projected to have 12 picks next year. 5 of them before Day 3 even starts. Insanity.
WHAT’S NEXT:
- Tight End Drama: No tight end drafted. Which means the Dallas Goedert situation just got even more interesting.
- UDFA Season: Keep an eye out — the Eagles always snag 1-2 UDFAs who actually stick. (Reed Blankenship ring a bell?)
FINAL THOUGHT:
Did the Eagles crush it? Hard to say in April… but Howie did what Howie always does: Stockpile talent, hedge the future, and leave the door wide open to swing a major move later.
And if you’re betting against him at this point, you haven’t been paying attention.
