Saquon: 2024 Eagles were one of the top-five teams in NFL history

Saquon Barkley dropped in to talk ball with the Exciting Whites on their new pod, Exciting Mics, on Thursday.

They talked all things Birds, and when speaking on the legacy of the 2024 squad, Barkley dropped some bars.

Obviously, I’m not disagreeing here — yeah, I’m biased, but I’m also right. If we’re really going to talk about what makes a team one of the all-time greats, there are a few boxes that need to be checked.

First, the team has to dominate on the biggest stage. The Eagles absolutely did that — blew the doors off Kansas City and dropped a record 55 points in the NFC Championship. That alone puts them in the conversation.

Second, they need to be the best in the league at something. The 2024 Eagles had the top rushing attack in the NFL, powered by Saquon and a loaded O-line, and paired it with a dominant defense. Another massive check.

Lastly, all-time great teams usually have multiple Hall of Famers. Lane Johnson’s already a lock. Saquon, AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts, and Jordan Mailata are all firmly in the mix. And the younger core — Carter, Quinyon, Cooper — could absolutely get there if they keep trending up.

So yeah, based on all that, it’s hard to argue with Saquon. The 2024 Eagles weren’t just great — they were historic.
