Eagles’ Jalen Hurts hints at what’s in store for 2025 offense
When it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles, nothing stays stagnant for long — and Jalen Hurts seems to know that better than anyone. With another offseason shuffle on the coaching staff, the reigning Super Bowl MVP is already laying the groundwork for what this year’s offense might look like.
Gone are Kellen Moore and Doug Nussmeier, who took their playbook and rode off to New Orleans. In come Kevin Patullo and Scot Loeffler, both tasked with fine-tuning an attack that sputtered far too often in 2024. If you’re worried this is just another rinse-and-repeat experiment for the Eagles, Hurts’ words should calm those nerves.
Eagles Offense: Continuity and Evolution
Patullo, who’s been around since 2021 as the passing game coordinator, is stepping into the OC role — and that continuity matters. Jalen Hurts made it clear: this isn’t some alien playbook overhaul. It’s about building off what works. The Eagles know what they have in their quarterback, and they’re doubling down.
“I can’t predict how the offense will look next year, but I do know we need to evolve… as an offense,” Hurts said. That’s about as honest as you’ll get from the guy, and it’s exactly what you want to hear. Evolution, not revolution.
For Hurts, it’s about keeping the core intact while mixing in new wrinkles — a little more Saquon Barkley, a little more dynamism in the passing game, and a lot more of what he does best. And don’t sleep on Loeffler’s impact, either. Hurts already sounds like he’s taking notes: “He’s very knowledgeable… I can put it in my toolbox and lean on it when I need to.”
The Eagles offense might not look dramatically different at first glance, but don’t be fooled. Nick Sirianni knows the real secret sauce: tailor everything around QB1. “You always want to do what they do best,” Sirianni said. Translation: this is still Jalen Hurts’ show — and that’s exactly how it should be.
So yeah, maybe the faces in the meeting rooms have changed. But with Patullo and Hurts on the same page, and Loeffler’s fresh perspective keeping the fire lit, expect the Eagles to keep evolving. Because if there’s one thing this team has proven time and time again, it’s that they’re not interested in staying still.
Bring on 2025.
