Eagles draft pick is called the “Most Dangerous” addition of the NFL offseason

Eagles GM Howie Roseman continues to terrorize the NFL. Just when you think he’s done, he pulls off another masterclass. This time, he may have landed the biggest steal of the entire 2025 NFL Draft—and it’s already being called the most dangerous addition in the league.

Forget the flashy free agent moves. The real prize came when the Eagles jumped up one spot in the draft—just one—and snagged Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell with the 31st overall pick.

This dude was mocked inside the top-10 all year before a postseason shoulder surgery caused him to slide. That’s not a slide—that’s a Howie trap, and the rest of the league fell for it.

Eagles may have gotten the steal of the 2025 NFL Draft

Even national outlets are shaking in their boots. Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski dropped a bomb, calling Campbell the Eagles’ “most dangerous new addition.”

“Welp, he finally did it with the selection of Alabama’s Jihaad Campbell. Or did he? Campbell served as an edge-defender for the Crimson Tide before making the full-time conversion to off-ball linebacker. Vic Fangio can use him in a variety of manners to disguise defenses and create different pressure packages to confuse opposing quarterbacks.”Brent Sobleski, Bleacher Report

And it doesn’t stop there.

An NFL exec told The Athletic’s Mike Sando:

“Jihaad Campbell was one of the higher grades I’ve given for a linebacker. Vic Fangio will use (Zack) Baun off the ball and Campbell on the ball, and that is huge. They’ll be the blitzers in the simulated four-man pressures Fangio loves. It can be like Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman in San Francisco.”

Campbell isn’t just a linebacker. He’s a weapon. At Alabama, he bullied quarterbacks as an edge, then seamlessly transitioned to off-ball duties. Now in Philly, he’ll be deployed like a Swiss Army knife with a grudge.

What makes this move even more refreshing is simple: Howie Roseman actually used a first-round pick on a linebacker. That’s been borderline unheard of in Philly. But more importantly, he didn’t just draft any linebacker—he took a modern-day prototype. Campbell brings elite size, freakish athleticism, and rare versatility that perfectly fits today’s NFL.

This isn’t your dad’s run-stuffing backer. This is a heat-seeking missile built to hunt in space, blitz off the edge, drop into coverage, and punish anyone in his path. For once, the Eagles didn’t overthink it. They grabbed a weapon. And that alone should terrify the rest of the NFL.
