Pacers Fan Arrested After Stabbing Two Knicks Fans at Indiana Brewery During Game 2 of ECF
While national media froths at the mouth anytime a Philly fan throws a snowball or flips off Santa Claus, let’s talk about what’s going down elsewhere during the Eastern Conference Finals. An Indiana Pacers fan has made headlines, but for all the wrong reasons.
An Indiana Pacers fan was arrested and charged with three felonies — including battery with a deadly weapon — after allegedly stabbing two New York Knicks fans during an altercation at a brewery in Carmel, Indiana. Yes, you read that right. Stabbing. Over basketball. In public. At a bar.

According to FOX59, the alleged stabber is 24-year-old Jarrett Funke (yes, real name), who reportedly got into it with two Knicks fans during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It started the way most bar altercations do: someone got a little too bold about their team, Funke didn’t like the Knicks hat he saw, smacked it off the guy’s head, screamed some expletives, and got escorted out… by his own dad.
So, you think that’s the end of it, right? Of course not. And for a city in Indiana — a place I’ve actually been thinking about visiting because it’s becoming the new basketball mecca of the United States thanks to Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers, plus Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever — this just sucks to hear. That said, you see stuff like this happen all over the country, so I’m not trying to throw any shade.
Now, back to what happened here
Witnesses say Funke returned minutes later, stormed back in like he was doing a WWE run-in, and started swinging. One Knicks fan was stabbed in the back. The other took a knife to the leg. Funke told police he was just defending himself, but multiple eyewitnesses called BS and said he was the aggressor the entire time.
His bond has been set at $20K, and he’s been ordered to stay away from the victims. You’d think that would go without saying.
This entire ECF off the court has been wild — between this and the poor Pacers fan who got mobbed in MSG last week, tensions are clearly high. But stabbing someone over a basketball game? That’s not just crossing the line — that’s jumping over it, spiking the ball, and getting hit with a felony.
