97.5 The Fanatic afternoon show officially names new host
It’s official — Bill Colarulo is taking over the afternoon slot on 97.5 The Fanatic, alongside Ricky Bottalico and Sylvana Kelleher. The new trio’s first show kicks off June 9th.
I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge sports talk radio guy in general. Most of it feels like recycled takes and yelling about nonsense, but I do occasionally catch the start of the Mikey Miss show on my way into work every day.
Those spots where Bill has filled in or co-hosted are pretty solid. Doesn’t scream into the mic just to fill air, actually knows what he’s talking about — no glaring issues in handing the afternoon show over to him.
Plus, when you’re alongside former TLL Content Creator Sylvana Kelleher, we’ll always show our support until proven otherwise.
It’s a quick rise for Bill, too. Just a few years ago he was doing unpaid spots for the rats over at JAKIB Media, then weekend shows on The Fanatic. He got his shot with Mikey Miss last year, and now he’s got one of the biggest slots in Philly radio.
Update: 97.5 The Fanatic will be called Unfiltered with Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo

The name itself is lightyears better than ‘The Best Show Ever?’…so that’s a start.
The afternoon spot opened up after Tyrone Johnson was let go back in April. That show had a lot of turnover — Hunter Brody’s over at WIP now, Jen Scordo was let go last year, Connor Thomas has been filling in recently. Now it’s pretty clear that The Fanatic is resetting with this new lineup.

I’ll check it out when it launches. No reason not to give the guy a fair shot — and frankly, afternoon radio in this town could use a little fresh energy. Let’s see what Bill and the crew bring to the table.
