Jesus Luzardo breaks the ‘Haircut Rebound’ trend with a disastrous outing against the Blue Jays
Well, that didn’t work. Jesus Luzardo, donning a new, horrendous hairstyle, lasted just 2.1 innings and allowed nine hits, eight earned runs, and two walks while striking out just two. At the time of this article, the Phillies are down 8-0 in the top of the sixth inning.Â
Not great. The Phillies rolled into Toronto on a four-game losing streak and all things considered, appear to be dropped 2-of-3 up North. The main reason why is the same old song and dance at the plate, but Jesus Luzardo falling off a cliff certainly hasn’t helped.
Jesus Luzardo thought cornrows would help revive his stuff and, clearly, it did not:

Luzardo has been a complete disaster in his last two outings and it has officially tanked his once Cy Young hopes. The hair obviously didn’t save him. After we witnessed Nick Sirianni and Bryce Harper turn the corer with new cuts, Luzardo had to be thinking the same but the results simply did not follow. Cornrows were just too far a departure from the trend to even make sense.

This is not great for the Lizard King. His back to back horrendous outings have tanked his season long stats. Plus, they’ve made me hate him, which is arguably much worse.
