Chris Simms Quarterback Rankings Jalen Hurts

WATCH: Chris Simms puts Jalen Hurts at No. 10, somehow ranks Baker Mayfield, CJ Stroud, and Jayden Daniels higher than the Super Bowl LIX MVP with a straight face

At this point, Chris Simms disrespecting Jalen Hurts isn’t shocking, it’s tradition.

The former backup QB turned NFL analyst dropped his annual quarterback rankings, and sure enough, Hurts landed at No. 10 overall.

Somehow, Baker Mayfield, CJ Stroud, and Jayden Daniels are ahead of him but sure enough, Chris Simms wants us to take him seriously…again.

I’m just pissed that I am now wasting my time writing about Chris Simms. I’m a World Champion. I shouldn’t have to speak on peasants who simply don’t know ball. Yet here we are, back at the Chris Simms engagement farm, restoring order to the realm. Go figure.

Chris Simms is insufferable…lol

This isn’t analysis. This is engagement bait wrapped in football terms.

Simms claims Hurts has “flaws” that justify the low ranking. Honestly, I don’t see any flaws with Jalen Hurts. I do however, see a Lombardi Trophy and a Super Bowl LIX MVP Award that definitely passes the eye test for Top 5 Quarterback.

I’m not really sure what else even matters at that point but sure, let’s look at actual football and some very basic numbers from what happened on the field last year.

Jalen Hurts – 2024 Regular Season Stats:

  • Passer rating: 103.7
  • Yards: 2,903
  • Touchdowns: 18
  • Interceptions: 5
  • Rushing yards: 630
  • Rushing touchdowns: 14

And that was in just 15 games. Hurts wasn’t padding stats in garbage time—he was guiding the Eagles to a 13-2 record before sitting out the final two games to rest up for the playoffs.

Jalen Hurts – 2024 Playoffs:

  • Passer rating: 108.6
  • Yards: 726
  • Touchdowns: 5
  • Interceptions: 1
  • Rushing yards: 194
  • Rushing touchdowns: 5

He played his best football when it mattered most. That included a win against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams, a lights-out NFC Championship Game against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, and then winning Super Bowl LIX against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts – Super Bowl LIX vs. Chiefs:

  • Passer rating: 119.7
  • Yards: 221
  • Touchdowns: 2
  • Interceptions: 1
  • Rushing yards: 72
  • Rushing touchdowns: 1

That’s a Super Bowl MVP performance against the reigning champs and the greatest QB of this era. Hurts delivered. Period.

On that note, I honestly thought that after “The Dagger” to DeVonta Smith, that any talk of Jalen Hurts not being able to a throw a football would be killed.

The Eagles went up 34-0 on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs here:

From that point moving forward, what exactly is the argument? Jalen Hurts “misses throws” in the regular season? He benefits from playing with good teammates?

Welcome to elite football, Christopher.

Simms can dress it up however he wants, but the pattern is obvious.

In 2021, he didn’t rank Hurts at all. In 2022, Hurts came in at No. 22. In 2023, he jumped to 7. Then he slid to 9 last year. Now he’s 10… after winning a Super Bowl and MVP. The more Hurts accomplishes, the more Simms tries to discredit him.

We have written about it every time it happens. Check out this list. Insane.

Let’s not pretend this is about X’s and O’s. This is about clicks, replies, and keeping the anti-Hurts narrative alive so Simms can be “the guy who’s not afraid to say it.”

Anyone with even a basic understanding of football knows that Jalen Hurts is not a system guy. Jalen Hurts is the system.

Here’s an idea for all you idiots ranking quarterbacks to pass time this summer.

If you want to make sure you have a solid Top 10 list, look for the guys who have won Super Bowls first and then build the rest of the list from there.

If you even think that Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, CJ Stroud, or Matthew Stafford (at this point of his career) is a better option than Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts, then put down your computer and find a new hobby.

Until one of these guys actually does what Jalen Hurts just did, there’s literally no reason to put them ahead of Hurts in any type of ranking or list.

If Chris Simms can’t recognize that, maybe it’s time we stop recognizing Chris Simms.
