Embarrassing: Tom Brady shares his Mount Rushmore athletes list; further proving he’s not built for sports talk
There comes a time in every great athlete’s life where they hang it up and try their hand in the media game. Some of those athletes succeed. You have guys like Peyton Manning, Charles Barkley, and even JJ Redick (I guess) that have all done well behind a desk but others, simply fall flat on their face. That’s where Tom Brady enters this conversation.
There comes a time in every great athlete’s life when they hang it up and try their hand in the media game. Some succeed—Peyton Manning, Charles Barkley, even JJ Redick ( I guess). Others? They fall flat on their face trying to play it safe and please everybody. Enter Tom Brady.
The greatest quarterback to ever live, Tom Brady randomly popped up on my TikTok For You Page, where he was listing his Mount Rushmore of GOATS.
Before we get into it, Mount Rushmore lists are typically four people. Obviously, when asking to rank GOATS while naming only four athletes is a difficult task. No one is denying that. But for “play it safe” Tom Brady deciding to ditch the standard format and name 11 total athletes in the video clip is wild in itself.

Let’s start with the obvious outlier on this list: Angel Reese
Holy hell. Honestly, I probably don’t even have to write much more than that. Thomas Edward Brady literally put Angel Reese on his Mount Rushmore Top 11 Goats list.
At first, I was convinced that I was deceived by an AI Deep Fake. There’s no possible way that Brady, the purest form of a GOAT would actually try to sell the idea that Angel Reese was the GOAT in any sense of the word right?
Wrong.
Angel Reese? Really?
I don’t care how many social media followers she has or how much she spends on her pregame outfits. The truth is, Angel Reese being on anyone’s Mount Rushmore of athletes is a complete and utter joke. She’s literally out here missing five layups in a row, rebounding her own bricks like she’s padding stats on a Fisher-Price hoop. And then she’ll take to the post game podium claiming she’s growing the game.
Putting her in the same conversation as Caitlin Clark is not only laughable, it’s flat-out disrespectful to basketball. To the game. To the people like me who eat, sleep, and breathe this sport.
Is Tom Brady Afraid to Offend People Now?
I don’t even want to dive into the politics of Brady’s answer but clearly, there are sinister forces at play here. Again, I find it very hard to believe that Tom Brady thinks Angel Reese is a GOAT. That’s just too crazy to actually believe, right?
Honestly, it’s not even about Angel Reese specifically. Including anyone from the WNBA on a list of GOATS is disgusting behavior. Something tells me that Bleacher Report or whatever platform that Brady is representing these days had their hands in the cookie jar and told Brady to include WNBA players.
Tom Brady lists 11 GOATS and three of them are from the WNBA? I’m literally a fan of the WNBA and Caitlin Clark specifically but there’s no way in hell I would include anyone associated with that league on a Top 11 GOAT list. It just doesn’t make sense.
Either Brady hasn’t watched a minute of actual basketball recently, or he’s suffering from a full-blown case of the Woke Mind Virus™.
The same guy who used to scream at teammates, laser-lock into two-minute drills, and destroy defenses with surgical precision… is now too afraid to leave Angel Reese and WNBA players off a pretend list because he might hurt someone’s feelings?
Soft.
Where’s the competitor? Where’s the killer instinct? Where’s the guy who lived to dominate and loved being the villain? I miss that Tom Brady. Because this new version? He’s trying to play nice in a space that thrives on truth-telling and authenticity.
The Rest of the Names on the List.
- Michael Jordan: Obviously. Don’t even need to explain this.
- Kobe Bryant: Great pick. Mamba Mentality lives forever. Thank God it wasn’t LeBron.
- Tiger Woods: Duh. He is golf.
- Rory McIlroy: He does have a Grand Slam but it’s a Ryder Cup year. Can’t happen.
- Shohei Ohtani: Absolutely. However, I’d still go Mike Trout (when healthy)
- Barry Bonds: No doubt. Best hitter of all time. Steroids or not.
- Michael Phelps: Agreed. Untouchable in his sport.
- Michael Johnson: Respect.
- A’ja Wilson: Nope.
- Caitlin Clark: On her way, but nope.
- Angel Reese: Embarrassing Tom. Seriously?
Well, this sucked. And it’s because I really do like Tom Brady and respect him. But this triggered me so much to make this the first blog I write today. Well technically my second because I had to write about Caitlin Clark adding me on Facebook.
