Eagles OL Kendall Lamm denies bashing Dolphins, but his explanation raises eyebrows

Not exactly the offseason headline the Eagles needed, but here we are.

Veteran offensive lineman Kendall Lamm, who joined the Eagles in March after a brief stint with the Dolphins, found himself at the center of controversy this week over a quote he claims he never gave. The issue? A viral post from a sketchy website attributed harsh criticism of Miami’s locker room culture to Lamm — and major outlets like USA Today, Yahoo Sports, and Sports Illustrated ran with it.

The Eagles lineman is now doing damage control, releasing a video to clear the air. But his explanation might have made things even messier.

In his video response, Lamm says, “One, I don’t remember talking to any reporter… Two, I was never raised that way… Three, I have no animosity.” It’s a calm, measured statement — and sure, he might just be genuinely confused — but let’s be honest: starting with “I don’t remember” when you’re denying a quote doesn’t exactly scream confidence.

Most people remember whether they’ve slammed a former employer in a national interview. And while Lamm insists the quote must have been “misconstrued or taken out of context,” the fact that he floats the idea that maybe he did say something and just forgot? Not a great look.

The Real Problem for the Eagles

To be clear, this doesn’t seem like it’ll lead to locker room drama in Philly. Lamm’s a depth guy, not the heartbeat of the line. But the Eagles pride themselves on culture and accountability, and this type of vague denial doesn’t exactly align with either. Whether he said it or not, the story’s now attached to him — and by extension, the Eagles.

It’s also a reminder that in today’s media world, all it takes is one unverified quote to light a fire — and even when players push back, it can be hard to put that fire out. Especially when the first thing out of your mouth is, “I don’t remember.”

In the end, this might blow over quickly. It’s June. Training camp isn’t even here yet. But for a team like the Eagles, where margins are thin and expectations are sky-high, distractions — however small — can stack up. Hopefully for Lamm, this is the last time we hear about him this season… and not because he’s backpedaling on camera again.
