Fans Lose Their Minds Over Embarrassing NBA2K26 Cover Reveal — And They Have Every Reason To

In a world where AI is taking over just about everything—including graphic design to some extent—you’d think putting together the cover art for a sports video game (NBA2K26) would be the easiest part of the job, right?

Wrong. Once again, the greedy bastards at NBA 2K dropped the ball, slapping together back-to-back covers featuring the same lazy, blurred-out photo effect. And while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander absolutely deserves the spotlight on this year’s cover, I just can’t get past how downright awful the design is.

The current and previous NBA2K covers for reference here

Aside from the blurred image background being an issue here it’s fact that you look closely enough, It’s Luke Kornett and Al Horford of all players being in the background. Like, what the Hell are we doing here man? Oh and they appear to be duplicated somehow… I literally can’t…

The best part is, Dan Greenberg from Barstool, who is a Boston Celtics fan even called out this NBA2K26 cover nonsense.

The NBA2K26 cover is an abomination to the 2K franchise

I still have the poster hanging in my room from when Kobe Bryant was on the cover. That’s how iconic not only NBA2K17 was, but how sick the game cover was. I can’t imagine being a kid right now who just picked up hoops video games recently, telling himself that he wants a poster for this to hang in him room.

Certainly not the poster for NBA2K26 correct?

Anyhow, enough is enough, I can’t believe I sat here and typed this much over a greedy video game franchise that I continue to play despite how much I hate them. Aren’t we all just the clowns of this whole circus?

Game prices will continue to go up, the quality will get worse, as well as the effort gone into market and advertising. And we will still all buy it like little rats.
