Joel Embiid Phillies Tweets

Joel Embiid tweeted and deleted a few things last night after the Giants ridiculous walk off against the Phillies

It doesn’t happen often these days but last night, Joel Embiid opened up Twitter and fired off a few tweets about the Phillies loss to the Giants thanks to a ridiculous, 3-run inside the park home run.

It’s no secret that Joel Embiid is a Phillies fan. He was in the stands during Red October and correct me if I’m wrong, even caught a few regular season games over the past few years. Of course, Embiid never gets the credit like other athletes in this city when he supports our teams but we’re past that at this point.

That won’t change and obviously, he deserves better.

Still, I can’t figure out why he deleted the tweets? I guess you can really look at this in one of two ways.

Joel Embiid is sneaky locked in to all things Philadelphia. He’s ready to return to the basketball court, healthy, and lead the Sixers out of the depths of hell yet again, en route to his second NBA MVP Award.

On the other hand, Embiid isn’t locked in to anything and is attempting to stay hidden from the public eye, knowing damn well he doesn’t have a knee left and will never be able to return to the MVP-level form that we have all witnessed over the past few years.

The injury demons have completely taken over and all that’s left is debating whether or not he should come clean and admit that it’s finally over.

Yes, I’m perfectly aware that really none of what I have written explains why Joel Embiid deleted the tweets but this is what happens when your franchise cornerstone completely disappears for months after going down with yet another knee injury.

Very little updates from Embiid and the most vague, pointless updates from Daryl Morey and the Sixers’ front office will do that to you, right?

Either way, Embiid is right. Losing like that last night in the Bay was brutal but here in Philly, we’re used to that type of pain across all of our sports teams.

The good news is that the Phillies bounced-back today. They destroyed the Giants 13-0 to salvage the series. Should have been a sweep though, if we’re being honest.
