NJ Little League player ejected, suspended for bat flip heading into state title game
The United States of America is an empire in decline. It’s a shame, but it’s true. The latest piece of evidence proving this comes to us from the New Jersey Little League playoffs. Marco Rocco tanked a home run to help Haddonfield advance to the semi-finals.
The kid capped it off with a monumental bat flip, which umpires deemed worthy of an ejection and a one-game suspension, causing him to miss out on the most important game of the season.
Little League should be one of the pillars of a strong American society, but an ejection for a bat flip is patently absurd:

Little League officials cited “horseplay” as the reason for the disciplinary action. Horseplay? We should have just handed the keys to the country to the Soviets in the 80s if we were going to end up here anyway.
Bat flips are simply a part of the game now. I get that it used to be frowned upon because of the “unwritten rules,” but this is the modern age.
Little League even posts bat flips to their official social media pages. And for good reason, they’re electric.
So, forgive me for saying that this suspension is wildly hypocritical. Blatant nonsense like this is a clear sign of the erosion of our institutions.
Now, I will say this. Marco launched the absolute shit out of that bat. It was no ordinary bat flip. I still don’t think it was suspension-worthy by any means, but I could see how someone could conclude that kids shouldn’t be launching metal rods into the air so high they nearly reach terminal velocity on the way down.
In the end, Marco deserves to suit up with his team.
