AJ Brown channels Queen’s Freddie Mercury for new celebration

AJ Brown is officially a frontman now. The best wide receiver in the NFL is going full Freddie Mercury at Live Aid with his new celebration.

Brown is busting out the legendary “AYYYYYYY-YO” call-and-response from Queen’s 1985 masterpiece at Wembley Stadium.

Obviously, it stands for “AO,” as in Always Open, which is both AJ Brown’s mindset and a factual statement if you watched even one Eagles game last season.

Honestly, inject it straight into the gameday playlist.

A few weeks back, AJ Brown asked Eagles fans to help him with a chant for every time he makes a big play at The Linc this year and I think we can all agree that we delivered with flying colors.

AJ Brown wants Eagles fans to hit him with a chant every time he makes a big play

Philly crowds live for a unifying chant, especially if it’s dramatic, loud, and slightly confusing to opposing fanbases. This has potential to be right up there with the “E-A-G-L-E-S” war cry and the unforgettable “FOLES” chant during the first Super Bowl run.

“AYYYYYYYYY-YOOOOOOOOO!”

Perfection but when do you actually play it at The Linc?

After every catch doesn’t seem right. After a touchdown could work but there’s a ton of shit already happening over the loudspeakers, so that might not work either.

That leads me to belive that it should happen after first downs only.

Specifically, those soul-snatching slants on 3rd & 8 where Jalen Hurts zips one into Brown’s chest and the crowd hits 110 decibels before the refs even signal the chains are moving.

That’s when you unleash it.

The defense is still catching their breath, the stadium is shaking, and Brown’s flexing at midfield while Lincoln Financial Field turns into Wembley for 3.5 seconds. 70,000 fans scream it back like we’re opening for Queen. Electric.
