Eagles Training Camp: AJ Brown, Zack Baun dealing with minor injuries, expected back soon

I’m not one to talk about anything that happens at training camp, but when the Eagles are dealing with injuries to two of their most important starters, AJ Brown and Zack Baun, this post seemed necessary.

AJ Brown and Zack Baun have been limited since the Eagles opened camp, but there’s absolutely zero reason to hit the panic button. Brown is dealing with a hamstring issue since Friday and Baun has been nursing a back contusion for a week weeks at this point.

According to reports, both absences are precautionary, and there’s no real concern from the Eagles’ medical staff.

Zack Baun and AJ Brown continue to miss time, considered precautionary.

There you have it. Neither player is in a rehab jersey, and both have remained active on the sidelines at practice. That’s usually a good sign.

If there were any real risk of a lingering issue, they’d be deep in treatment or off to the side doing individual work. This just looks like smart maintenance with Week 1 in mind.

The Eagles open their preseason Thursday night against the Bengals, and Joe Burrow is expected to play a few series.

Nick Sirianni hasn’t said whether the Eagles’ starters will suit up, but don’t be surprised if A.J. and Baun are both held out entirely. No need to tempt fate in early August.

AJ Brown and Zack Baun are fine. The Eagles are simply being smart.

Get me to Week 1.
