NFL Expert praises Eagles rookie Jihaad Campbell in his preseason debut

Jihaad Campbell slipping all the way to pick No. 31 in the 2025 NFL Draft was the most Eagles and Howie Roseman thing ever. The so-called “injury concerns” were supposed to keep him off the field early in the year, but the rook was one of the first defensive players to take the field during training camp.

Last night, we saw his first action as a member of the Birds.

The Philadelphia Eagles, your reigning, defending, undisputed Super Bowl LIX Champions, delivered a preseason ass-whooping of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here’s all things from the game last night >>

All things considered, it looks like the Birds were gifted yet another future star to add to their already stacked defense. Campbell made his NFL debut Thursday night and in just 15 snaps, he managed to turn the heads of everyone watching on the national TV broadcast.

Watch a signature Baldy breakdown of Jihaad Campbell’s first preseason action

He looked exactly like the freak athlete everyone at Alabama said he was — flying around the field, diagnosing plays in real time, and almost coming up with a highlight-reel interception.

We obviously always love when our guy Baldy drops one of his breakdown videos, because unlike us watching these games in real-time, Baldy dives into the tape afterwards and gives a great football breakdown.

To say it was an encouraging debut for the rookie linebacker would be an understatement. And I’m sure no one is more upset for the dropped interception than Campbell himself. But, preseason is the perfect time to shake off those cob webs.

At this point I’d be shocked if Jihaad Campbell isn’t starting alongside Zack Baun in week 1. He looks as NFL ready as a rookie could be.
