TOUR Championship locks in Top 30 at East Lake

TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP – The PGA TOUR’s marathon season comes down to this. The top 30 players will make one final stop in pursuit of the FedExCup trophy at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

For the first time, there’s no Starting Strokes format. Everybody tees it up even. No head starts. No gimmicks. Just golf, pressure, and a whole lot of money on the line.

Scottie Scheffler owns the BMW, Robert MacIntyre just another casualty

The East Lake Big Guns

  • Scottie Scheffler – The machine. Won five times this year, grabbed the Ryder Cup No. 1 spot by a mile, and now has the FedExCup in his sights.
  • Rory McIlroy – Mr. FedExCup. Three-time winner of this thing. Loves East Lake, loves the stage.
  • J.J. Spaun – Don’t adjust your screen. He’s been steady all year and finds himself second only to Scheffler in the standings.
  • Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre – A little Euro flavor near the top. Good prep before Bethpage Black.

The Guys Who Can Break It

  • Xander Schauffele isn’t here and that’s a headline itself. For years he’s been East Lake’s assassin, but not this time.
  • Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland – Major pedigrees. All three are the type who could get hot for four days and swipe the Cup.
  • Harris English and Russell Henley, the Georgia boys showing up in their backyard.

TOUR Championship Storylines:

  • Keegan Bradley – Captain America (sort of). He’s got to make Ryder Cup picks next week, and he’s 11th in the points. Playing captain? Still on the table.
  • Maverick McNealy, Ben Griffin, Andrew Novak – The youth wave. Big shots for guys who aren’t household names yet.
  • Akshay Bhatia – Still only 23. Lefty, flashy, fearless. He’ll be a fan favorite in Atlanta.
  • Chris Gotterup, Harry Hall, Jacob Bridgeman – Names casual fans might not know yet, but they earned their way here. East Lake has a way of turning unknowns into “whoa” moments.
