Bigger Eagles trade coming? An AFC general manager believes so
Eagles fans: Training camp and preseason have shown us exactly what we feared: none of the other corners have stepped up. Not one. And if this team is serious about another Super Bowl run, they can’t afford to trot out liabilities on the other side of the field.
And while I think they have more than enough talent elsewhere to make up for it, I can’t help but want Howie to use all the draft capital we do have to truly sure up that spot, so that opposing offenses can’t target these weaker corners in the passing game.
On the bright side, we may be in that direction based off these AFC GM’s view on the Eagles
Text from an AFC GM: “Don’t think Eagles are done with trades. They have so many picks next year and that team is always gonna be aggressive.” https://t.co/LaoYmHHHAI

The Eagles adding another wide receiver? Sure, it’s interesting. But let’s not pretend that was a need. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a very smart move by Howie.
A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jahan Dotson are the top three for 2025. Johnny Wilson shook off a slow start and has looked solid. Darius Cooper’s been one of the surprise standouts in camp. Ainias Smith hasn’t been flashy, but he’s found the end zone in both preseason games.
If they keep seven wideouts, fine. But that’s a numbers game. This team didn’t need more depth there. They truly need help at corner.
A Trade Idea That Makes Too Much Sense
So here’s the question: would the Eagles and Browns pull the trigger on this?
Denzel Ward → Philadelphia
Jahan Dotson, Kelee Ringo, and a 5th → Cleveland
It’s bold. It’s aggressive. It’s exactly the type of move Howie Roseman has made his reputation on. Ward is a proven difference-maker. Plug him opposite Quinyon Mitchell, let DeJean float as your Swiss Army knife, and suddenly this secondary looks like the best unit in the league.
Perhaps the Birds added another receiver to the room because Roseman is about to move one in a bigger trade? Is this what that AFC GM was hinting at? Who knows.
Now keep in mind, this is all just me speculating. Perhaps Howie was working his GM magic when the Cleveland Browns were in town? We can only hope.
