Bryce Harper was rocking custom Mets-colored cleats and batting gloves in Queens last night as a part of his personal collection of rivalry gear. It was interesting, to say the least.

Meh. Gotta be honest, I don’t really understand the point here from Bryce Harper. The guy typically crushes these types of things but wearing the Mets colors on your gloves and cleats is a bizarre choice.
I guess he’s supposed to be mocking them? I really don’t know. It’s also hard to mock a team that knocked you out of the postseason last year, right? I mean hell, the Phillies have now lost 8 straight games up in Queens.
I don’t think now is the time to start wearing their gear. Bryce Harper looked like he was enduring step one of a humiliation ritual last night. Step two came when Alec Bohm started complaining about microphones that have reportedly been there since 2017 and step three arrived after they lost 13-3.
Phillies smacked around by Mets, Cristopher Sánchez tagged for season-high 6 runs in 13-3 Loss
In the end, Bryce Harper can wear whatever he wants. I just want to win baseball games and I definitely do not want to give the Mets any false sense of hope by allowing them to climb back into the division race. Figure it out.
