At what point do the Eagles just admit that trying to cover up the Super Bowl LIX with orange tape is completely useless?
Something is cooking with the Eagles down at The Linc, and it’s wrapped in about 50 yards of bright orange tape.
Kyle Pagan from Crossing Broad got a stadium tour courtesy of TickPick, so shoutout to them for giving free access to literally everyone but The Liberty Line. While he was busy chopping it up with Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham, the real headline was hiding up in the rafters.
A massive orange cover job. Impeccable work, too. Problem is, we all know exactly what’s under there.
Eagles did a bad job trying to hide the Super Bowl LIX banner
It’s beautiful, honestly.
That’s not just any banner, that’s the World Champions Super Bowl LIX banner and the one that will be unveiled right in front of Jerry Jones and the Cowboys next week.
You couldn’t script it better but honestly, if you’re going to cover it up, why even bother if you’re not going to do it right? Everyone can see it. I honestly, don’t understand why they would even attempt to do that?
Eagles’ Banner Politics
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Once that banner goes up, The Linc is going to look even funnier with the 2017 and 2024 banners hanging far away from each other. Those two deserve prime real estate right next to each other, not sandwiched between NFC East “we tried real hard” banners.
The Philadelphia Eagles are on the brink of a dynasty. We are a championship program now and the class of the NFL. You no longer come to Philly to hang division titles. It’s all about rings now. Period.
Eagles Need to Rethink This. Here’s How:
- Keep only the rings. 1948, 1949, 1960, 2017, 2024.
- Ditch the filler. Nobody cares about “NFC East Champs” or “NFC Finalist” banners. Every other NFC East team avoids that loser behavior. So should we.
When the Eagles win another 2-3 Lombardis, which feels inevitable with this core, that’s when you build the ultimate row of banners and flex on everyone else.
Until then, we wait. That orange-wrapped secret isn’t fooling anyone. The only mystery left is how loud The Linc is going to get when that tarp comes off and the Cowboys are standing right there to witness it.
Shoutout Kyle Pagan and Crossing Broad for the Scoop. No, not you, TickPick.
