Here’s the Philadelphia Eagles 53-Man Roster
Howie Roseman told us not to get too comfortable, and he wasn’t lying. The Philadelphia Eagles dropped their first 53-man roster of 2025, and while it’s “set” for now, it’s not crazy to believe that there’s more tinkering coming but regardless, this is the group they’re rolling with into Week 1.
Eagles 53-Man Roster
Quarterbacks (3): Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Sam Howell
Jalen Hurts is back for another round of proving haters wrong, as if a Super Bowl MVP on the shelf wasn’t enough. Behind him, things get interesting. Tanner McKee has a busted thumb and might miss early action. Sam Howell is the new insurance policy after Kyle McCord bombed his audition with one of the uglier preseasons we’ve seen.
Running Backs (4): Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, A.J. Dillon, Ben VanSumeren (FB)
Barkley is back and still very good at football. Rookie Will Shipley will see more touches this year, while A.J. Dillon muscled his way onto the roster. Ben VanSumeren makes it as the fullback/special teams wrecking ball.
Wide Receivers (5): A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, John Metchie, Darius Cooper
AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith remain one of the scariest duos in the league. Dotson’s camp was sharp, and he’ll be more involved than last season. The Eagles cut bait on Ainias Smith (too many adventures as a punt returner), leaving rookie UDFA Darius Cooper as the lone surprise addition. John Metchie slides in as a depth piece.
Tight Ends (3): Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Kylen Granson
No surprises here. Goedert is TE1, Calcaterra hangs around, and Kylen Granson won the final spot after beating out a pile of fringe names.
Offensive Line (11): Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Fred Johnson, Matt Pryor, Drew Kendall, Cameron Williams, Trevor Keegan, Willie Lampkin, Brett Toth
The starting five is rock solid. Behind them, Fred Johnson, Pryor, and Kendall are your go-to reserves. Landon Dickerson’s health is worth watching, with Brett Toth getting emergency LG reps this summer. Williams struggled in camp but sneaks in as a developmental stash.
Update: Trevor Keegan waived, Willie Lampkin claimed >>
Edge Rushers (5): Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Josh Uche, Azeez Ojulari, Ogbo Okoronkwo
Smith and Hunt headline the group. Behind them, it’s a mixed bag — Uche, Ojulari, and Okoronkwo need to produce or Roseman might be bargain-hunting at the deadline.
Defensive Line (6): Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, Gabe Hall, Byron Young
Carter, Davis, and Ojomo start up front — a nasty trio if they stay healthy. Gabe Hall made a Year 2 leap, Byron Young slots in as a backup nose, and rookie Ty Robinson is a slow burn project.
Linebackers (4): Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Smael Mondon
Nakobe Dean starts the season on PUP, sidelined at least four weeks. Even so, this is the deepest linebacking group the Eagles have fielded in years. Baun leads, Trotter Jr. brings legacy energy, and Mondon plus Campbell give them athletic depth that’s been missing for a long time.
Cornerbacks (6): Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Adoree’ Jackson, Kelee Ringo, Mac McWilliams, Jakorian Bennett
The kids are all right. Quinyon Mitchell looks like a star in the making, and Cooper DeJean will do a little of everything in the slot. Adoree’ Jackson grabs the other starting role — for now. With Ringo, McWilliams, and Bennett fighting for relevance, don’t be shocked if this position group sees a shakeup before Halloween.
Safeties (4): Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, Andrew Mukuba, Tristin McCollum
Blankenship is locked in. Brown starts next to him while rookie Andrew Mukuba works back from injury. Tristin McCollum sticks as depth. Not flashy, but steady.
Specialists (2*): Jake Elliott, Braden Mann
Technically two specialists for now, since the Eagles cut long snapper Charley Hughlett as part of the yearly roster gymnastics. He’ll be back, practice squad stash style. Elliott remains money, and Mann keeps punting duties.
The Eagles 53-Man Roster Feels Like A Work In Progress…
This Eagles 53 feels like a work in progress, which is exactly how Howie Roseman likes it. The bones of a contender are here: Hurts, Barkley, Brown, Smith, Carter, Mitchell.
There are question marks at edge depth, safety health, and of course, the ever-terrifying kicker-long snapper shuffle. Stay tuned, my guess is that this roster is far from finished.
