No Jalen Hurts is the reason Texas tried the Eagles’ Tush Push and failed miserably
Steve Sarkisian rolled into Columbus with Arch Manning and the Longhorns offense and thought they could the tush push out of the Philadelphia Eagles’ playbook.
That of course, did not work.
On a crucial fourth-and-goal, Texas lined up and attempted the legendary Tush Push. Here in Philadelphia, we know damn well that it has become damn near impossible to stop thanks to guys like Jalen Hurts and the Birds’ offensive line.
Not that it needs to be said, but Arch Manning and the University of Texas are not the Philadelphia Eagles. The Longhorns got stuffed, Ohio State immediately responded, and just like that, it was 14-0 Buckeyes instead of a tie game.

The Tush Push is only unstoppable in Philly
Texas failing proves the long-debated point that the play isn’t broken.
The Eagles just execute it at an elite level that nobody else can touch. It has never been a rules problem and has always been a personnel problem.
Arch Manning is no comparison to Jalen Hurts under center, obviously, and the Texas offensive line has lightyears to go before even making it to the NFL, let alone running one of the most physically demanding football plays in history.
Speaking of Hurts, it’s funny how everyone says “what would he be without the tush push?” as if the play is the sole reason for him wracking up all his touchdowns and sustaining drives.
It’s a product of the Eagles offensive line and Hurts once in a lifetime lower body strength from the quarterback position.
So, for the last time, stop petitioning for the play to be banned. It’s a part of football. If you’re one of these people, I urge you to find a new hobby. This sport ain’t for you.
