City Drops the Ball, FanDuel Picks It Up: Broad Street Line Restored for Eagles Opener

Not all heroes wear capes. FanDuel Sportsbook has partnered with SEPTA to restore the Broad Street Line for the Eagles season opener Thursday night.

Their statement:

FanDuel has stepped up to provide resources to help fully restore service on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line [B] for Thursday, September 4 so that Philadelphia Eagles fans can safely and efficiently get to-and-from Lincoln Financial Field for the home opener.

SEPTA will run regularly scheduled subway trains, plus Sports Express trips, before and after the game. Pre-game, Sports Express trips will run every 10 minutes to supplement Local service. Post-game, SEPTA will have 10 Express and six Local trains ready to get fans home from NRG Station. Post-game trips will operate over a period of approximately 70 minutes, and SEPTA urges fans to go to NRG station right after the game to ensure they can catch a train home.

The FanDuel sponsorship covers free rides home for fans. The free rides from NRG Station begin at halftime and continue through the end of service.

It’s obviously great that FanDuel is stepping up to the plate here. But it’s also embarrassing that the city had to get bailed out by a sportsbook to ensure their fans have adequate travel accommodations to and from the game.

It’s pathetic, really. The mayor, the governor, whoever has final say on this thing, figure it the fuck out, cucks.

Regardless, shoutout to FanDuel. They’re modern day heroes for this. And now, everyone can attend The Great Season Opener.

  1. This is not the fault of the mayor or governor. Both very publicly are pushing for funding to be passed by the State Senate in Harrisburg. Blame the Republicans who are holding back their votes, and are trying to make the lives of Philly residents worse. But MAGA right! All Dems are cucks!
