Hilton is a nickel corner through and through. In 737 defensive snaps last season with Cincy, 617 of them came out of the slot. He was the highest rated corner against the run in 2024 (91.7 per PFF) and ranked 55th out of 222 qualifying corners in coverage, for an overall PFF grade of 75.8. If signed, there’s no question what his role will be.

That brings us to the Eagles current nickel corner, Cooper DeJean.

Coop is arguably the best nickel in the league. Moving him to the outside, while it’s not ideal, could be the best course of action for the Birds right now. It’s clear that they don’t have faith in the current outside corners on the roster outside of Quinyon Mitchell. Coop might at least give them stability at CB2, something that can’t be said for anyone else on the team.

We’ll see how it all plays out, but all signs are pointing towards a Hilton signing. Howie already made one move on defense, signing Z’Darius Smith to help the pass rush. The GM clearly isn’t satisfied with his defense.
