Unless I’m tripping, the 76ers just posted a video of Joel Embiid playing basketball without a brace on his knee

Have my eyes deceived me? Did I accidentally dose myself on psychedelic mushrooms? Both are possible, but I’m almost certain that the Philadelphia 76ers just posted a NEW video of Joel Embiid playing basketball without a brace on his knee.

The team’s Instagram dropped a video today of none other than the big fella, on a basketball court, moving smooth, looking sharp, and most importantly… without a brace.

Let me tell you, Joel Embiid was looking FANTASTIC.

Sweet Jesus, Sixers fans… Joel Embiid is hooping again.

Listen, I’m a simple guy.

Sure, I’ve spent the better part of a year absolutely destroying the Philadelphia 76ers and their godforsaken organization but all it takes is two things to get me back on the ship and hyped up for the upcoming NBA season.

That’s all it takes and I’m all-the-way back.

Now, granted, nobody has any clue when this video was actually filmed. Could’ve been yesterday, could’ve been July.

Doesn’t matter.

What matters is we’re seeing Joel doing basketball things again, and that’s the best sight you could possibly ask for with training camp just a few weeks away at the end of September.

LOOK AT THOSE KNEES – THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL

Up until now, all we had to go on was the standard “rehab is progressing” updates and that ESPN article where Embiid basically said everything BUT “yeah, I’ll be ready for the start of the season.”

Maybe Joel Embiid heard Furkan Korkmaz talking shit over in Türkiye?

It had people sweating. It had people already gaming out how to cope with the Sixers without Joel Embiid and rightfully so.

This feels like a turning point.

Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but the team has always said they expect him to be ready for opening night, and today’s video sure as hell looks like he’s on track. Granted, he’s still just running drills in an empty gym, but that’s beyond the point.

Joel Embiid is back hooping. We still need confirmation. We still need him out there when the games actually count. But for now, I’ll take the win and the joy that comes with it. The MVP is back on the court and all things considered, looking like himself again.
