Warning: Anti-Tush Push propaganda is going to be at an all-time high on Monday
2-0. That’s all that matters. Consider this your warning: tomorrow you’re going to be bombarded with anti-Tush Push propaganda.
The Eagles beat the Chiefs to move to 2-0. The offense was flat-out bad at times but still found ways to win — thanks largely to our favorite play. I’m not sure how many times they ran it, but it felt like nearly 15 times on Sunday.
The Tush Push complaints are already rolling in:
The refs missed multiple false start penalties against the Birds in Tush Push situations, including on the final touchdown that pushed the lead to 10.
On the last drive, the Birds ran it twice to ice the game, with the final one being controversial as well. You could even hear the officiating expert on the broadcast say, “I’m done with the Tush Push.” If that isn’t a cry for help, I don’t know what is.
Just prepare yourselves. Even though it’s 100% the referees’ fault for missing calls, the Eagles will be the target. The new angle is going to be, “It’s a hard play to officiate, therefore it should be banned.” That’s the company line, guaranteed.
I hate that the discourse around the game will be dominated by that, but that’s the world we live in. Fuck ’em. Go Birds.
