Eagles Rams Preview

Preview: Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles – NFL Week 3

The Eagles and Rams meet Sunday in a rematch of last year’s playoff beatdown, and let’s be real — this game already feels like déjà vu. The Rams spent their whole offseason “game-planning” to not get steamrolled like they did last time, but when push comes to shove (literally), the NFC belongs to the Birds until proven otherwise.

Side Note: I know I called it a “rematch” in the opening paragraph of this post but it’s laugh out loud funny when the Los Angeles Rams promote the bill as a “Divisional Round Rematch” from last year. At some point, we just have to focus on the season that’s being played right now or else we will have rematches every week.

The Tush Push Meltdown Continues

National media, rival coaches, and retired fossils just can’t help themselves.

Dean Blandino whined about it on FOX, Bill Cowher called it “not football,” and Sean McVay is already begging refs to watch for false starts.

Meanwhile, Jordan Mailata dropped the hammer: “Any other team can do it.”

He’s right. Nobody else wants to admit their o-lines are too soft to make it work. The Eagles ran it seven times against Kansas City last week and embarrassed them with it. Sunday’s going to be more of the same.

Everyone’s crying while Philly laughs in their face.

Saquon’s Personal Highlight Reel

The Rams are still having nightmares about Saquon Barkley. He turned them into a blooper reel last year: 460 yards, four touchdowns, with runs of 70, 72, 62, and 78 yards. It looked like he was playing Madden on rookie difficulty.

Add in Jalen Hurts’ 100+ rushing yards and the Eagles almost cracked 600 on the ground in two games.

Six hundred!

The Rams can stack the box all they want, but the Birds’ O-Line bullied them before and will bully them again.

AJ Brown Is Ready to Eat

AJ Brown hasn’t broken out yet this season, but lucky for him, he gets Emmanuel Forbes Jr. on Sunday.

Brown already cooked him back in 2023, winning jump balls and dragging him around like a little brother in the backyard. Forbes is listed at 180 pounds, which is generous, and Brown outweighs him by what… a million pounds of muscle?

That checks out. If you want a breakout game from AJ Brown this is the perfect opportunity, regardless of what he’s telling the media.

Adams & Nacua vs. the Young Guns

The Rams’ passing attack is no joke. Matthew Stafford looks sharp, Davante Adams is still Davante Adams, and Puka Nacua is catching everything in sight.

Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are about to get their biggest test of the year. The Rams love to send Nacua in motion like it’s a magic trick to get him free. Vic Fangio already warned his guys to stay disciplined, or L.A. will scheme you to death.

Bird Bath Ratings

Jalen Carter is still the baddest man on the field, and last year he wrecked the Rams in the playoffs with two sacks and a forced fumble.

Carter will be lined up mostly against Kevin Dotson, and good luck to that guy. Rob Havenstein is old, Steve Avila might not even play, and the Rams’ line has cracks everywhere.

Philly’s front finally found its groove against Mahomes. Stafford’s back is one bad hit away from folding like a lawn chair, and this could be the game it happens.

Eagles Rams Bird Bath

Prediction: Kyren Williams will fumble. Eagles will capitalize.

Kyren Williams put up yards last year, but the guy can’t hang onto the ball. Five fumbles in 2024, including two against the Eagles. He’s not a home run hitter, just a volume guy who coughs it up when defenders start punching.

The Eagles will be swiping all game, and don’t be surprised if one of those punches flips momentum.

All Good on the Injury Front

The Rams want revenge, but nothing’s changed. The Tush Push isn’t banned, Saquon is still a monster, and the Birds defense is getting better by the week.

The Birds are 2-0 and still haven’t even hit their stride on offense. The Rams beat bad Texans and Titans teams over the first two weeks.

If they Rams think they’re walking into The Linc and stopping all of that, well good luck.

This feels like another Sunday of the Eagles lining up, smashing them in the mouth, and sending the rest of the league into another week of whining about a 1-yard play they’ll never be able to stop.
