Jakorian Bennett Jordan Davis Blocked Field Goal

Shoutout Jakorian Bennett, who made the Jordan Davis touchdown run possible

Shoutout Jakorian Bennett.

Everybody is rightfully losing their minds over Jordan Davis going full freight train and taking that blocked field goal to the house. It only feels right to remind everyone that it really wouldn’t have even been possible without Bennett shouldering Ethan Evans into the grass.

When the football was blocked, Ethan Evans was in position to end it right there. All he had to do was fall on it, and we’re talking about a 27-26 Eagles win instead of a 33-26 instant classic.

Jakorian Bennett wasn’t having it. He straight up shouldered Evans, burying him into the field and opened the lane for Jordan Davis to scoop and score.

Heads up play here from Jakorian Bennett

The chance of Evans doing anything productive with that ball was dead already, but if he even smothers it for a second, the clock’s dead, the game’s over, and the Birds are just walking away with a one-point win instead of one of the most ridiculous endings you’ll ever see. Bennett’s hit erased that entire possibility.

The Jordan Davis Game is going to live forever. It’s one of those plays that gets replayed in every Eagles highlight montage until the end of time. I just want to make sure our guy Jakorian Bennett deserves some love too, ya know?

Without that clean-up hit, we’re not talking about Jordan Davis rumbling 60 yards and Philly fans cashing miracle tickets at the Live! Casino postgame.

Jakorian Bennett doesn’t get the headline, but he damn well earned a footnote in Eagles history with that shoulder shot.
