Ryan Clark says Lamar must win a Super Bowl to evolve black QBs — Apparently forgot Jalen Hurts just won SB MVP

Ryan Clark is such a dumbass. And the worst part about it — he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room.

To be fair, when he’s talking to Cam Newton, he probably is the smartest man in the room. But that doesn’t mean what he’s saying is necessarily ‘smart.’

During an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, he stood on his soapbox to talk about Black quarterbacks. Which is fine, no issues there. But then he started talking about Lamar Jackson and said something so dumb it actually got a visceral reaction out of me.

Hey, dumbass — a Black quarterback won Super Bowl MVP nine months ago, and his name is Jalen Hurts. Did you forget that, or does he not throw the ball enough for you to count his impact on the evolution of Black QBs?

I love Lamar just as much as the next guy, but he’s far from the only successful Black quarterback in the NFL right now. And if we’re just looking at accomplishments, Hurts is right there with him. Jackson has the regular season accolades, Hurts has the postseason accomplishments. I’d say they’ve both done a lot for Black QBs. Ryan Clark, on the other hand, has his head too far up his own ass to even acknowledge that.

Hurts’ story is also way better than Lamar’s. What he had to overcome dating back to college, to where he is now. I’d think someone like Clark would want to praise that every chance he gets. I guess not.
