Texans release CJ Gardner-Johnson, it’s time for the Eagles to bring that psycho home

The Houston Texans took three weeks of regular season football to get sick of Super Bowl Champion CJ Gardner-Johnson, as the team released him this afternoon. The Eagles traded him away after last season because of issues in the locker room, and it seems those issues persisted in Houston.

Howie Roseman clearly saw the writing on the wall and probably made the right move trading him away. Even so… the Eagles simply have to bring CJ back into the fold for another run at the Lombardi trophy.

Sure, C.J. Gardner-Johnson may be a psycho, but he’s our psycho.

Say what you will about him – and we here at The Liberty Line have said plenty – he is quite literally destined to be an Eagle. He’s said some outta pocket things as well, but I really don’t care.

Now, some are saying it’s not possible for the Eagles to bring him back. Something about league rules that you can’t acquire a player you traded unless they have played four games for another team. That has also been disputed, and I don’t really concern myself with what’s “legal.” That’s never been my bag.

Some are also saying that would not be wise football move in general. Andrew Mukuba and Reed Blankenship are humming along as a safety tandem. Plus, CJ Gardner-Johnson is a nutjob and out of his goddamn mind.

But again, I counter with the fact that I do not give a rat’s ass. Bring him home, Howie. You know you want to.
