Ryder Cup Rory McIlroy Popped Collar

“You Don’t Need a Button to Choke, Rory” – The Americans at Bethpage are ready for the Ryder Cup

Finally. A proper insult. When Rory McIlroy fiddled with his collar and some hero in the gallery dropped, “You don’t need a button to choke, Rory,” you could feel it land.

The best part was that even Team Europe had to acknowledge it. Clean shot. Direct hit. Exactly the kind of energy we need at Bethpage this week.

Ryder Cup: Even Rory McIlroy and the Euros Laughed At This One

2025 Ryder Cup Friday Pairings: Matchups and Tee Times for Day 1 at Bethpage Black

I don’t care if Rory McIlroy’s collar is popped to block the sun, rain, sleet or snow. I definitely do not care if this is some type of lame European fashion statement either.

It’s 2025 and nobody should be popping collars anymore. The Americans would never.

Regardless, this isn’t even about Rory McIlroy’s tragic fashion choices, it’s about our fellow Patriots roaming the sacred grounds of Bethpage Black and doing their damn job.

Winning a Ryder Cup at Bethpage isn’t just about Bryson bombing drives or Scottie draining birdies. It’s about rattling Team Europe from the first tee shot at 7:10 AM. It’s about heckling without mercy.

We’ve heard all the pearl-clutching this week about “hoping fans don’t cross a line.”

Sorry, but the Ryder Cup is being played at Bethpage Black in New York, the heartbeat of the homeland. Welcome to America. Crossing lines is what we do.

It’s early, I haven’t even had my coffee yet, but I’m gassed up. Bryson and JT are leading us off. Defend Bethpage. Defend the homeland. LFG.
