Report: Nakobe Dean set to make his season debut Week 6 vs. Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles are getting some reinforcements back on defense. Nakobe Dean is set to make his season debut on Thursday night against New York, per CBS Sports.
Nakobe Dean is back
Patellar Tendon injuries are notoriously hard to come back from. The fact that Dean is back less than a calendar year after tearing it is remarkable.
It’s easy to forget how good he was last season before the injury. One, the Eagles still went on to win the Super Bowl without him, and two, Jihaad Campbell has been great through five games. But in my opinion, Dean was just as good as Zack Baun last year.
Getting him back is a big deal. It’ll allow Vic Fangio to get more creative with Campbell. Having him line up at edge could become more common. It also just frees up Baun more.
I’m excited to get the young fella back at linebacker. It’ll only help the defense as a whole.
