Only in Tampa: Ravens fan throws haymakers at Buccaneers fan during game against the 49ers

Had someone DM me over a video of some dude in a Ravens jersey teeing off on a Buccaneers fan during yesterday’s game against the 49ers.

If you’re wondering why a fan showed up in a Ravens jersey (wrong game, dickhead) and was starting fights with Bucs fans who were focused on beating the 49ers, trust me, I am too.

WATCH: Ravens fan unloads on Buccaneers fan

Wild video, right? Of course, this was just a small clip and we don’t know what happened to cause this Ravens fan to throw haymakers at the Bucs fan in his seat. My guess is that the Bucs fans were (expectedly) trashing this dude for showing up in a Ravens jersey.

Is that enough to warrant this type of behavior in the stands? Absolutely not. In fact, The Liberty Line has made a few trips down to Clearwater with Phans of Philly for Birds away games and the Tampa fans have always been a delight.

We were ripping heaters up in the rafters, Dunphy was down near the field with no shirt on acting like a psycho, and the entire vibe was awesome. Point being, when you have near-perfect weather, a great tailgate, and a fanbase that welcomes the chaos of the Philadelphia Eagles, then there’s really no reason for violence.

On top of that, the Bucs fans know damn well, they have people flying in from all over, rocking jerseys from teams that aren’t even playing. It’s a vacation town with tourists, snowbirds, and bachelor parties all mixing with legit Bucs fans trying to catch a football game.

A Ravens showing up to a Buccaneers-49ers game as wild as it sounds, checks out. As for the haymakers? Hard pass there, brother. Get your shit together.

You’re a grown man punching some helpless dude sitting in his seat. I’m not sure what was said but that type of reaction is downright nasty. Can’t have it. Now you’re posted all over the internet and people think that you’re a psychopath.

Was It Because the Ravens Are 1–5?

Obviously, there’s no justification for that type of behavior. I’m not saying the guy was justified at all but I am saying there’s a chance that pent-up football frustration had something to do with it.

Regardless this is unacceptable behavior. I’m not sure why that fan thought it was a good idea to wear a Lamar Jackson jersey to this game in the first place.
