Eagles Road Trip Guide: Minnesota – Week 7
If you’re planning to make the trip to Minneapolis to watch the Eagles take on the Vikings in Week 7, but have no idea what to do when you get there, you’ve come to the right place.
This is the comprehensive Eagles Road Trip Guide: Minnesota edition.
Of course, if you want to skip the planning and let the professionals handle everything, you’d be silly not to book with Phans of Philly. They handle flights, hotels, game tickets, and even have an all-inclusive tailgate. Plus, they always put on an event or two to keep the vibes rolling through the weekend into gameday.
Any other week, Minnesota would be in no way interesting to me, but there are two aspects of this trip I find particularly appealing off the bat.
First, is that their stadium is both incredible and the same building in which the Eagles claimed their first Super Bowl win in 2018. Second is that their fans are complete losers, and watching the Eagles beat them at home would be an absolute pleasure.
The Eagles haven’t lost to the Vikings since 2018, and Nick Sirianni is a combined 8-0 against NFC North competition. Needless to say, feels like a win.
Another positive about Minnesota is these people love to drink. I’ve compiled five spots to check out in Minneapolis as well as a couple pro tips so you can maximize your enjoyment before watching the Birds on Sunday.
Meteor Bar – North Loop
Meteor is like if your favorite dive suddenly started taking its cocktails seriously. It’s got an easygoing crowd, solid beer list, and bartenders who actually care about what they’re making. The space is small but full of personality. Think dim lights, old-school charm, and a few regulars holding down the corner of the bar. Great spot to start or end the night.
Parlour – North Loop
Parlour feels like a secret hideout for people who know their cocktails. It’s tucked under Borough restaurant, and everything about it, the music, lighting, even the glassware, makes it feel cool without trying too hard. Grab their famous burger, order something whiskey-forward, and settle in. This is where you go when you want to impress someone without saying you’re trying to impress them.
Brit’s Pub – Downtown
Brit’s is a Minneapolis classic. It’s got that old-school pub warmth inside and a sprawling rooftop patio for the warmer months. You’ll find locals watching soccer, tourists taking pictures, and everyone else enjoying a pint. If you time it right, you can even catch a game of lawn bowling on the roof. Perfect spot for an easy afternoon that turns into a late night.
Hell’s Kitchen – Downtown
Hell’s Kitchen is quirky, energetic, and local. It’s a subterranean space (basement level) with murals, eclectic decor, and a wide menu from brunch to late dinner. You’ll see everything from pancakes and eggs in the morning to creative takes on pub food later in the day — a good option for when you want tasty food + fun atmosphere.
Volstead’s Emporium – LynLake / Uptown
Volstead’s is hidden behind an unmarked door off Lake Street, and finding it is half the fun. Inside, it’s all vintage furniture, candlelight, and speakeasy energy. The bartenders wear suspenders, the drinks come out perfect, and the whole thing feels like a time warp. Just don’t bring a huge group — it’s cozy, quiet, and meant for smaller parties.
Pro Tips:
- The North Loop is where the best bars and cocktail lounges are spots. Once things get later, walk or ride over to the Warehouse District or First Ave area for the higher-energy stuff. It’s an easy 5-minute hop.
- Downtown winds down early food-wise. Your best bets after midnight are Pizza Lucé, The Nicollet Diner, or the food trucks that post up near First Avenue on weekends.
Even if you’ve already booked your tickets, hotel, and travel, you’ve still gotta tailgate before the Eagles game, right? That’s what I thought. You can still book tailgate only or tailgate and game ticket options with Phans, too.
