Brandon Graham Super Bowl Comeback

Brandon Graham reportedly considering comeback after Eagles lose Za’Darius Smith

The Eagles might be turning back the clock on defense. According to multiple reports, Brandon Graham is strongly considering coming out of retirement just months after walking away as a two-time Super Bowl champion and the longest-tenured player in franchise history.

Eagles vs. Vikings: Predictions, props, and why the Birds will snap their losing streak in Minnesota

The timing isn’t random and honestly, The Liberty Line has been closely monitoring this situation for months. This is more of a confirmation rather than breaking news. We had sources very close to Brandon Graham contact us way back in September saying that he was contemplating a return to football.

The Birds could use the help too. The defensive line took a major hit this week when Za’Darius Smith abruptly announced his retirement, leaving an already thin edge rotation in even worse shape.

With Nolan Smith Jr. and Ogbo Okoronkwo both on injured reserve due to triceps injuries, the Eagles are scraping for pass-rush help and Brandon Graham could be the perfect short-term answer.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the veteran defensive end has “missed the game” and is now seriously weighing a return to the field, possibly with the only team he’s ever known. You get the sense that if Graham wants back in, the door is already open.

Over his career, Graham has been a cornerstone of the Eagles’ defensive identity — a first-round pick turned fan favorite, a captain in the locker room, and the author of perhaps the most iconic play in team history: the strip-sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII that sealed Philadelphia’s first championship.

Statistically, he’s done it all. Brandon Graham holds the Eagles’ all-time record for regular-season games played (206), ranks third in franchise history in sacks (76.5), and even notched his first double-digit sack season as recently as 2022.

Beyond the numbers, he’s the voice every player listens to, the personality every coach leans on, and the kind of leader that makes a locker room believe again.

And right now, the Eagles could use that… badly.

The pass rush has been inconsistent, and the energy that once defined this defense has felt flat. Adding Graham, even in a part-time rotational role, would give Philadelphia a much-needed jolt of heart, experience, and leadership.

If the deal gets done, it wouldn’t just be a reunion it would be a homecoming for one of the most beloved players in franchise history.

Whether this is just Graham testing the waters or the start of another improbable comeback, one thing’s for sure: nobody in Philadelphia would complain about seeing No. 55 back in midnight green one more time.
