Angelo’s Pizzeria set to open Florida location in 2026 and I don’t know how to feel about it

Philadelphia’s famous Angelo’s Pizzeria is looking to expand beyond the City of Brotherly Love. The legendary pizza and cheesesteak spot will open a location in Jupiter, Fla., in 2026.

The new venture comes as a collaboration between Angelo’s and YouTube Golf goliath Bob Does Sports:

I honestly do not know how to feel about this. Obviously, congrats to the folks over at Angelo’s. They’re called the best in the city for a reason, and expansion is the name of the game when it comes to any business.

But I know how this city is. We have a way of turning on our own when they get too successful, especially when they become known outside of Philadelphia.

Angelo’s has weathered that storm well, which really is a testament to just how good their food is. They’ve become synonymous with the cheesesteak, which is no small feat considering how many places serve up a great one in the city.

I also just don’t like it when people outside of Philadelphia get to enjoy things that amount to what is essentially our birthright. The cheesesteak was promised to us 3,000 years ago. It is a sandwich for Philadelphians, by Philadelphians.

Is that a ridiculous way of looking at things? Probably. But I know I’m not entirely alone on this front.

I’m happy for the good people at Angelo’s. What they’ve become in a relatively short span is nothing short of impressive, and they’ve been a net good for the people of Philadelphia every step of the way.

I also know that Robby Berger, host of Bob Does Sports, loves food just as much as I do. Danny from Angelo’s won’t let this place churn out slop, but Bob knows sandwiches, so the fact that his name is attached to it gives me confidence that the quality will be held to the highest standard even after the grand opening.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
