WATCH: Commanders fan attempts to storm the field, fails miserably

The Washington Commanders are in shambles and their fanbase is unraveling around them. Last night during the Lions game, one brave Commanders fan thought that he could storm the field, only to learn within seconds of clearing the stands that he was making the worst decision of his life.

When I watch a video like this, all I see is an extreme lack of self-awareness.

Great effort, I guess, but this Commanders fan has to know that he’s simply “not that guy” and stood no chance. He was no where close to even making it to the field.

As you can see from the tweet, there was a lot of chatter that this fan was actually arguing with Lions long-snapper Hogan Hatten. Apparently that wasn’t the case. Hatten was having a nice convo with a fan in the stands not pictured on camera and had no idea there was a sleeper cell runner right in front of him.

I will say, the effort was there. That had to be the longest run of anyone wearing a Commanders uniform last night in their embarrassing 22-44 loss to Detroit.

Still, I have zero clue what this kid was thinking. I mean seriously, the President of the United States is in the building too. It’s no time to be a hero.

This dude is lucky that secret service didn’t snipe him the second he breached the walls. Security is already boosted and you think that you’re going to jump over the rafters and get to the field, when you’re moving like that?

Come on man… lol

This view really shows you how bad of a decision this was. I’m not sure if there was even a hole to run through. The actual video above shows a little more room but even then, he got slammed by at least 5 dudes before reaching the sidelines.

Not to be forgotten, this Commanders fan lost his shoe just a few steps into the entire thing. The most impressive part of the video is the fact that he actually went back to get the shoe and attempted to put it while he was getting dragged away by security, who just turned him into a pancake just a few feet from where this fan’s journey over the walls began.

Just insane behavior for a fan that runs like that.

The NFC East runs through Philadelphia.

The Eagles are 6-2 heading into Monday Night Football in Green Bay. They have won two straight games and are 4-0 under Nick Sirianni following a bye week. Jalen Hurts and company have everything clicking at the right time.

Meanwhile, the rest of the division is falling apart. The Cowboys are 3-5-1, the Commanders are 3-7, and the Giants are buried at 2-8.

Brian Daboll fired from the spiraling New York Giants, the NFC East continues to belong to the Philadelphia Eagles

The NFC East has not had a repeat division winner since 2004. That streak is about to end. Nearly two decades later, the Eagles are the clear powerhouse in the division and the only team worth paying attention to. The rest are playing for draft position while Philadelphia is preparing for another Super Bowl run.
